KYWS-810/May doll of Yoroi-Kabuto (armor) is an ornament used to celebrate boys' healthy growth and protection for children on May 5th Boys' Festival. This customs was born from the samurai society. Body armor & helmet made in the late Heian period - Muromachi period are known to have the formal and best style of heavy armor. It was mainly used for the cavalry. The large armor is crammed with craft and techniques such as lacquerware, metalwork, tie-dye and weaving. Each one is a unique and beautiful art piece.
