Head of thieves in a play. Posing menacingly. Inspired by Ukiyoe painted by Sharaku. Edobei was played by a Kabuki actor Otani Oniji. Toshusai Sharaku is one of Japan’s greatest mysteries. The ukiyo-e (woodblock print) artist whose short career was only 10-months from 1794 to 1795. During which he produced about 145 woodblock prints.
