Gauze Handkerchief／Venus

Jomon era clay figures are embroidered on a soft gauze handkerchief. Jomon "Venus" is a national treasure excavated from the Tanahata site in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. It represents a pregnant woman and has a beautiful curve. It looks shiny because mica pieces are kneaded into the clay.
