A bold chain embroidery of the Gashadokuro (giant skeleton) is featured prominently. The fabric is made from organic cotton, dyed, and finished with a fine wrinkle treatment in Shiga Prefecture. Its distinctive surface texture and relaxed feel make it truly unique.
Inspired by the Edo-period ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi, this design depicts a scene from the illustrated book "Chūgi-den" by Tōkaidō Yumenoya. It shows a confrontation between Takae Mitsukuni, the retainer of Minamoto Yorinobu, and Takiyasha-hime, the sorceress daughter of Taira no Masakado. A massive skeleton bursts through a noren curtain, dramatically leaning forward and creating a striking, large-scale image.
