Sweatshirt／Cat Enma

This embroidered sweatshirt features Cat Enma by artist Hakuaki, with embroidery on both the front and back.

Inspired by Enma, the judge of the afterlife in Buddhist tradition, Hakuaki imagines a decidedly feline version of the ruler of hell. His judgment is harsh but strangely comforting:

"Your punishment for dying before me is Cat Hell. Until your sins are forgiven, you must spend your days with a cat on your lap." And so, Cat Enma settles onto your knees, purring endlessly while you serve your sentence. What sounds like a punishment quickly begins to feel more like a reward.

Created in collaboration with Hakuaki, a Japanese artist known for handcrafted cat sculptures with the look and texture of ancient artifacts. Although a family member's cat allergy prevents them from living with cats, their affection for cats finds expression through imagination and art.

Featuring embroidery on both the front and back, this sweatshirt brings together Japanese folklore, cat humor, and the artist's unique imagination in a design that cat lovers will immediately understand.
