About 50 cm long. Was trained and used for ｆalconry from ancient time. Characteristic white eye stripes black eye patches, hooked beak and sharp claws. Lives in forests all over Japan and eat small mammals, and other birds. Flying speed of 80 km per hour while reaching up to I30 km during dives.
