Amaterasu Omikami, the great goddess of the sun was heartbroken with all the violence caused by her younger brother, "Susanoono Mikoto". She confined herself in a cave using a big rock. Leaving behind a dark and plagued world. All the gods and goddesses were troubled. They assigned "Amenouzume" the goddess of arts, to dance in front of the cave. Hearing the cheerful melodies, she finally takes a peek and the light came back to the world.
*"Kojiki" is the oldest chronicle of ancient Japanese myths, dating from the early 8th century.
