Nehanbutsu is a statue that represents the Buddha (Shakamuni) entering nirvana (death). It depicts Shakamuni lying down at the moment of his passing, symbolizing the end of life and the completion of the teachings of Buddhism. Typically, the statue shows Shakamuni lying on a platform surrounded by bodhisattvas, disciples, and animals, characterized by a serene face and peaceful expression.

Yozan Miura is a world-renowned contemporary Buddhist sculptor from Kyoto, known for his innovative "Drone Buddha" depiction of Amida and the twenty-five floating Bosatsu, bringing Buddhist teachings to modern life.
