Patch/Jizo Bosatsu
Jizo Bosatsu is considered an especially compassionate figure in Buddhism. Jizo is always depicted with a gentle expression and is believed to save those who suffer in hell. Additionally, ceremonies like Jizo Bon are actively held to honor him as a protector of children. He is often seen standing by the side of roads and is widely worshiped as a guardian deity for travelers.
Collaborating Artist
Yozan Miura
A Buddhist sculptor born in 1973 in Saitama Prefecture. After working in a company for three years post-graduation, he was inspired by the book 'Kibutsuki' by Jun Miura and Seikō Ito to become a sculptor. He apprenticed under a master in Shiga Prefecture for 13 years before establishing the Tonomikado Buddhist Workshop in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City. There, he carves new wooden statues, restores old ones, and conducts sculpture workshops. In 2018, he proposed the 'Drone Buddha,' merging traditional techniques with modern technology, aiming for a contemporary portrayal of Amida and the Twenty-five floating Bosatsu, bringing Buddhist teachings to modern life.
