Patch／Japanese Blue Crab

Japanese Blue Crab "Watari-gani" is about 15 cm width. The turquoise-colored body turns to vivid vermilion when heated. Living on sandy mud bottom relatively shallow depths of up to 30 m. Best from autumn to winter. Crab meat is considered delicious. In Japan whole crabs are boiled with salt, steamed or put in miso soup.
